Hello dear!

I have just bought LandCruiser PRADO 1999. And generally i drive it as well, but i don't understand some operations in the automatic transmision part. What exactly ECT PWR and 2nd STRT buttons used for? And also there's another small rectangular red button just next to it written japanese word on it.

So please help me if someone has it's user's manual or know it,.

Bulgaa, the 2nd STRT is used to prevent wheel spin when moving off on a slippery surface. It basically bypasses first gear and the car moves off in second gear. The ECT PWR when switched on makes the car hold the gears longer, therefore the gear change occurs at a higher RPM.

Not sure about the other red button.

thanks a lot for your advice

i found out what is the rectangular red button used for. that's to release the gear or switch it into P,N,D etc when car is turned off.

now i got a know another button O/D. so does anybody know about O/D?

O/D would be the Over drive button I would think.

D green indicater

hey guys! how you doing?

I got an another problem which is that the green light indicater D has started not flashing since yesterday. I mean suddenly I realized that it doesn't flash or light when I shift my automatic gear in D mode. Before all the time I put in D mode the green D light appears in my front control panel. but now it doesn't but the other lights flashes.

And I remember that I saw the same problem on the other automatic cars like only D doesn't light the others flashes such as R, 2, L, P, N

So does anybody know this problem? Please help me? if you know the reason, advise me the way to solve this problem
