What filter is this?

Hello,

I have a 95 series prado that i recently purchased and im trying to get it up to par. Ive just found out there is no Cabin Air filter in this model but i can see some sort of filter behind the glove box. Pictures below show it but I dont know what it is and how to replace it? It compresses to nothing on touch and i would guess hasnt been replaced for years (ever?).

Hiya,

Is that the in-cabin air intake for when recirculated air is selected? On mine it closes when fresh air is selected and opens for recirculated air.

Sorry for the late reply. Ive had 2 burst water pipes in my ceiling since last week. Its been a nightmare.

You're right that's what it is. The foam on the flap, does it do any filtering or is it just sound dampening or something? Is it possible / worth replacing it?

It'll fall apart on it's own when it's ready. It will likely just blow chunks out all the vents.

It's also glued on and probably impossible to get off, and when you do, it will ^^^^^
