Dear Prado friends, has anyone ever replaced a worn steering wheel in their Prado? Before I order one with Toyota at US$ 665, are there any alternatives that fit? A Camry from the same year (1997) as my Prado or a 4-Runner in the US?

Seriously , I found the standard prado 90 series steering wheel as uncomfortable as ugly . Practical in size , but grey ugly.
There are so many aftermarket models to choose much nicer and much cheaper than that 666 number you have mentioned ....
Choose something that feels good as well as looks good .I find a sporty shape better where my hands are relaxed when holding on to it.
17 posts and still a lurker. ahhh ya lurker!

Steering wheel on my 90 was getting a bit loose in places so fitted one of these.... http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/Pro...iameter/353981 Quite tight to. Get on but it's been there about 2 years and still good. Makes the wheel feel a bit different at first as it is quite thick but get used to it quickly. Was happy with it so bought one for the 120 as well.1997 petrol auto, 430 000km. Still going strong.
2004 petrol auto, 233 000km. Cracked dash and no help from Toyota!

This is what i am doing , its slow but its turning out just fine.
with the big cost of $5 or so ,It is surprisingly good quality , soft and thin , which is what i wanted. i really didn't want a thick steering that felt like a bicycle tyre.
now its to see how long it lasts....
here is the ebay link
