  • Cruise control not too good.

I know this is covered under the 'things you dont like' in the general section, but sheezus I feel like a whinge!!

Just got back from the snow, drove up there in convoy with a car full of mates.

Kicking down into second when it gets a sniff of a rise, not changing back up on the declines, revving its ring out, speed varying by up to 10km/hr...

My mate following jumps out of his car when we fuel up and asks me why I can't keep her steady - :x :x

I just hate drivng this thing in the country, and can't believe Toyota let these outta the warehouse like this.

    Rant over.

I cant see why this couldnt have gone in the "things you don't like thread?"

It obviously has an issue that needs sorting.

        Trojan,

Did yours show some of the same symptons as mine with the dirty AFM?

This has been a common occurenece in the 3 90's I've spent any time in.

        Thanks

Mine needs a hand to read some hilly sections I frequent... mount Tamborine behind the Gold Coast... some sections driving to Gympie.

I tend to take the O/D off just before I hear the revs drop too much about a third the way up a hill... I pull the 'cruise' lever as I crest a small hill so as it doesn't run away (speed) down the other side of the crest but otherwise I reckon the cruise does a good job of things...

... better than my Honda CRV did anyway.
          Cheers, Leon
There's no such thing as a wrong turn... it's just the scenic route!

Im pretty happy with the cruise on my 90. Like Leon said, abit of encouragement on steep hills. Mine is a 5spd.
