Straight through muffler and resonator exhaust tip
Contemplating of putting a performance straight through muffler and resonator at the exhaust tip. Anyone have gone through these changes.
Mine is a TZ auto transmission.
Re: Straight through muffler and resonator exhaust tip
I would like to know a bit about this aswell. Have been thinking about changing the stock muffer since I got the car cos it sounds pretty restricted. I was thuinking about just unbolting the one section with the muffler in it and trying to get a straight throught to replace it.

Re: Straight through muffler and resonator exhaust tip
what ever engine you have either the 1kz diesel of the 3.4 v6 they will both benifit from an aftermarket exhaust, the std system is a bit restrictive and by putting a free flowing system you will get in the diesel quicker spool up of the turbo ie it will come on boost earlier and get rid of the choked up feel up near 3000rpm, a little more power and just in general more drivability, with the v6 you will get slightly more power, rev more freely, better driveability, a nice exhaust note depending on what mufflers you decide on and possibly better fuel economy, depends on how big your right foot is. thats my opinion. cheers samo
had an 03 gx 120 with some gear now got a 2013 bt 50 GT auto some ARB gear.

hi mate i have 98 v6 getaway manual i put on pacemaker extractors on p/n 12660 and 2.5 inch with 1 straight through and 1 centre off set. a huge improvment from 1000 rpm take offs to 5000 rpm feels stronger everywere and sounds gggreat a small improvment in fuel economy. main problem is windows down and giving it some right boot.

Honestly, I haven't tried this one out. I'm not sure if 1kz diesel of the 3.4 v6 will benefit from an aftermarket exhaust but I guess I'll get an dual exhaust tips and try it myself somehow.
Pretty much every car out of the factory will benefit from an aftermarket free flowing exhaust. The amount of difference it makes will differ from car to car. The biggest improvements will always be in turbo'd cars, whether they be diesel or petrol.
Extractors and 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust with high flow cat and muffler are on my list for my 3.4 V6
