16x7 or 16x8 steel rims? offsets?

Looking to put 265/75/16 muddies (probably federal couragias) on a set of steel rims

Can someone please give me advice on what offset and rim size I need?

2002 prado 50th anniversary edn with 2" OME lift

You need 16x7 or 16x8 rims. Standard GXL offset is +15 but most people go for 0 or even -13 offset to get the tyres out wider. The wider you go the more risk of rubbing on flares.

I run BFG muddies on Dynamic 16x7 rims with -11mm off set. The 16x7's only go to -11mm offset where the 16x8's you can get -13mm off sets (so the guys at the shop told me). I find the -11mm offset to be just about right, no rubbing and still hang just with in the gards on a GXL. The 16x8's are more for the bigger tires than the 265x75.

By the way, different brands of tire have different types of side wall, eg BFG AT's are alot narrower than the MT's so dont stick out as far. Some thing to think about.
