A couple of years ago Pradopoint voted to use 16 as a call channel.
There's a thread about it somewhere.

Most of us in SA use channel 10, that is generally recognised as the 4wdrivers channel; and is also the channel generally recommended when in national parks.
For the GTG this year we have nominated channnels 12 through 16 for each of the 5 groups, we have already locked these in as channels for the second day at Bendleby where groups are required to nominate a channel.
I will be on 10 up until that point.

Your poll means nothing here in Radalaide. We use ANY channel here in SA as long as its CH10.Bitumen: A blatant waste of taxpayers money!

Me personally, I don't know what's wrong with the age old guidelines of...
Channel 11 is the call channel, once contact is made swap over to a 'chat' channel ... maybe that channel could be 16.
But, thats what the masses voted for so that's what us QLD'ers use when we start a trip. Quite often though it changes if there's heavy traffic etc...Cheers, Leon
