Delivery Delays

Hi all,

I placed an order for a new Kakadu mid Dec 12 with a dealer in WA with an expected delivery around mid Feb 13. As i was getting excited about the new arrival, I jumped on ebay and purchased some odds and sods for it. Mid Jan 13 I received an email that broke my heart - my Prado will be delayed until mid to late Apr 13, I was gutted!

Is anyone else experiencing this sort of delay? if so, what has the dealer done or what have you requested to ease the pain?

About to place a order for a Kakadu this week and was told delivery late April to early May.
Asked about the Altitude and was told dont know when available.
Will re ask on that one looking at earlier thread.

It's funny reading all this talk of delivery delays when my local dealer has 13 new Prados in stock and 4 "demos" with less than 20kms on the clock. Granted most are GXLs but there's a few Kakadus listed as well.

I could have bought a white, silver, black or blue D4D auto GXL and a couple in some colours. 2 or 3 Kakadus and another demo GXL with most of the ARB catalog but no VXs for 6 or 8 weeks.

Mmmmmm tasty! Tasty price too no doubt.

Any explanation as to why? Too popular or not popular enough for forward orders?

Not sure about why. I think there are some around but not at the dealer I spoke with. Really sharp pricing on 2012 builds as you would expect in Feb but I think they simply sold all the VXs they had because no equivalent deals were offered. And I didn't push it once the leader of the opposition made her choice.

The ARB beast was Jan 12 build and good price for sure but I was suspicious about where the demo km were racked up.

Hey Vichel, I wasn't having much luck at first until I notice a post on PP regarding the online tracking. I requested the details from the dealer and he informed me that this function is not available in WA?

I think he started to pick up on my frustration and offered headlight covers, bonnet protected and a free tank of juice. I accepted his offer and are using the time to research the accessories for my shopping list.
