Just rang them to confirm, you are covered for 100k of towing if your within 100k from your home, the first 50k being free the other 50k is per klm. If you are over 100k from home and can't be fixed roadside it's classed a major mechanical breakdown and unlimited klm towing including van under 2.5tonne (if towing) to your required workshop and includes accommodation and hire car I'm sure she said to the value of 3k. It is $182 yearly premium so well worth it in my opinion. Definitely still worth reading the fine print but from what she just told me sounds pretty good. Only covers registered roads but again I'm sure some one would tow you to a main rd if required and get towed from there..... Cheers Steve

That sounds pretty good, Steve. Guess RAA members don't get such good service after all.

Thanks Steve, I also thought the same way when they told me about this yesterday.

$82 extra per year for a better peace of mind.

I can see the after fuel reading is keep on changing while I drive..from 15.4 to 15.9. I have done only short trips to shops and parks (2-3 Km trips)

I hope this reading is correct. It is always showing "ECO" when I am driving..

              Correct Pressure for my tyres

              Hi,

As I mentioned earlier I am having two brand new Hankook 265/50r20 in rear and two Falken 265/50r20 tyres with 70% Tyre Wear Remaining in front. I have driven around 3K within these 3 months (Roaming around NSW since parents are here). I haven't checked the tyre pressure yet.

I feel tyre pressure is getting reduced by now..but feel more comfortable drive now.

what should be the correct pressure in both front and rear tyres? (These are low profile tyres on a after market sporty wheel)
How often should I check the tyre pressure?
Since the tyres were almost new I feel it is better to maintain properly to get maximum Kilometers.
One mechanic told me that these tyres will go around 75K kms..Is that true?

I am not driving off-road. My use is only on-road..(short and long trips)
My main aim is to get maximum Kms with these tyres even I am having little bumpy ride..

Should I check the wheel alignment as well? one of my friend suggested to check within every 6 months..Is that necessary?

              Please advise,
              Thanks in Advance.

                Hi all,

Please help me about the tyre pressure. I couldn't find the proper pressure in online.

since it is factory extra fitting 20 inch wheels and low profile tyres I couldn't find any relevant solution.

should I put same in both four tyres..like 33ish? or should I put 35 in the rear tyres?

front Tyres : Falken 265/50r20 (almost new)
rear Tyres : Hankook 265/50r20 (Brand new)

                Please advise,

I am going to fill petrol today..

                Thanks..

Don't they say on the tyre wall?

I wouldn't put any petrol in the tyres, oh wait, you mean in the fuel tank... Hope its not a diesel.

Nice one..Normally I check tyre pressure when I put petrol. That's why I said like that..hmmm

Lalsyd, check the side wall of the tyres for recommended pressure, seriously. Ignore my pathetic attempts at humour.

On a side note, those low profile tyres don't have much of a side wall. You may need a magnifying glass if your eyesight is anything like mine.....

it says 50psi and I did fill pressure to 50psi in all four tyres.

Ride is better now. But when I got a chance to talk to one tyre service guy today (he is my friend's friend) told me low profile tyre should have 37psi only. otherwise it is better for the tyre people to get more profit..

I am worried now..should I reduce it now?

                          Thanks in advance,

I'd be running no more then 42/43 all round. 50 is extremely high even for a low profile. If still unsure ring around a few tyre places and see what they say. If they all know what there talking about then they should all be saying around the same pressure as each other... Cheers Steve

I agree with the 42-43 psi ,with 50 it will make it feel firmer . I could not believe my work truck tyres need 50 psi and it has a 70 profile tyre

I think the 50PSI on the sidewall is the pressure required for maximum load rating, not the normal pressure to be used in day to day driving.

If you over inflate the tyres, the centre of the tread will wear faster than the outside, so your friend is correct that it will make more money for tyre dealers.
