I was answering the question ... there are differences.

I agree though - the condition of the car is paramount I guess.

Perhaps too, an early 150 may have had assembly bugs? While the last of the 120s would have been brilliantly built.

I find the GXL 150s seat too hard ... the 90 series GXL front seats are superb IMO. Not sure about the 120 seats. As you say, test them.

If you want airbags though, the 150 is better, so too its braking, its chassis flexes less too although for some that is not an issue.

For a female, illuminated sun-shade mirrors matter ... so might depth adjustment of the steering ... iPod input might matter to some ... so too bluetooth although I am unsure how well the early 150 supported bluetooth ... Reare vision and parking distance is mandatory for those of us who have gotten used to it ... and there are more differences.

Pick up a 05 5 Speed Auto GXL Petrol on Wednesday. Me and the missus are super excited.

You have to have an illuminated sunshade mirror!

I drive a 150 diesel for work. Comparing it to my 120, there are a few things that are a backward step in the newer model. All the chimes and bleeps annoy the hell out of me. As does the keyless ignition. Less luggage room. Non removal of the 3rd row seats.

        Horses for courses, etc.

Agree about the room. I have measured the 90, and its got more luggage space than the 120. Its higher from floor to ceiling, and although the body is narrower, there is little plastic on the sides, plus the sides have shelves in the rear compartment.

I still think that a 90 with good brakes and the 120 petrol motor or the D4D would be pretty good. Although its chassis flexes a lot.

I'm going to get a 150 though. I'll put some Drifta drawers in the back - will pull out the rear seats. While that easy to do in the 90, I've pulled them out and never put them back. I think the 150 is poor in that they should have designed the fold in seats to be easy to remove and have included a panel for when you do remove them, as the GX has. But I guess the accountants won.

but there's lots of good things about the 150 that the 120 doesn't have. And there are few low mileage 120s, and of those, low mileage old vehicles are not necessarily good. and no new ones!

The 150 has keyless entry, and this has got to be one of the favourite features for both myself and my wife.

Another difference is that with a 150, you can turn off some off VSC (the stability control system). Handy when off road.
