  • help purchasing a prado!

Hey guys just after some advise
Im looking at purchasing a 2007 land cruiser prado gxl just wondering if they are any good.
it has 270,000ks on it although it had a reconditioned motor at 200,000ks with a proof costing $12,000. I dont know much about them I just dont want to be ripped off, also wondering what a fair price would be for it, thanks

Yep, they are pretty good - but we may be a tad biased on a Prado forum.....

Depends what you are looking for, what you want out of a 4x4 and what your price range is.
Plus, price on toyotas varies significantly between petrol & diesel. What is the one you are looking at?

Im looking for a family car that can go camping, beach and fit our family (3 car seats) plus friends & ok on fuel.
Iv find a 2007 gxl auto diesel with 270,000ks on it. But got a reconditioned at 200,000ks (with recite $12000) has bull bar & spotties they are wanting $24,000 iv got the cash but just having second thoughts

I think the prado ticks all those boxes. It might be a bit cramped though if you want to put in 3 child seats and bring along extra friends. Although I'm not sure what other car would fit that...
270k km would be relatively high, but given that the engine is reconditioned that should be fine.

You can always have a mechanic check it out if you want to be sure?

But on general lifestyle and the things you want to use it for, it would fit the bill - that's exactly what most people on this forum use it for..

The 3rd row of seats are not the most spacious. I wouldn't be putting an adult in there for too long a journey. But I have sat in the back before. And there's no mounting points in the 3rd row for a car seat. We did fit two car seats and a booster in the second row however. Not so much of an issue now eldest is out of a booster.
