Buying a new Prado from over East and sending to Perth

Hi,

Just wanting to know if anyone has bought and shipped a Prado from the Eastern States and what savings are to be had in doing so? I have managed a $74k figure for the VX V6 2016 plate with towbar from a local dealer hear in Perth.

What are the pitfalls if any of getting a new car from the East?

I just picked up mine from CEVA transport yesterday. Mine is a 2013 plate but still saved approx $15k.

Allow approx $1000 to ship it, then you'll need to rego it here. New cars don't need a pit inspection. However unless you can get the eastern states dealer to sell it to you unlicensed you'll be slugged double stamp duties (there & here).

Sorry just realised you said new. It depends then on stamp duty and costs from dealer over there.

I got my 2012 Altitude from Brighton Toyota in Vic. They arranged the transport and Grand Toyota delivered it for me. Funny thing is it would have cost me an extra $7k to buy the exact same car from Grand Toyota themselves (even after freight)!!!

I was looking at an off-road van in WA from Mandurah RV. Same van in Melbourne was $11K cheaper at $60,000.
