Prado tradeup from 1kz 95 - 120 or 150?

So I have had a Prado 95model 1kz (year 2000) for the past 4 years or so and it is about time to trade up to something more recent.
Should I look at the 120 or 150 model?
Wife wants auto, but I prefer manual - which is better in the 120/150?
Pretty keen to keep diesel but comparisons to petrol V6?

What's the budget, Jeff? For a long time, the 120 and 150 shared the same engines/gearboxes, which is why I am only updating now to the 2.8/6Auto. So it will really come down to what you can afford. I am coming from a 120 D4D Auto and have absolutely loved it - never missed a beat. But the 150 has stability control, better off road traction control, more airbags etc.

Budget is important for obvious reasons. I would like to be looking between 30-40k. Preferably with some additions - dual battery, snorkel, barwork etc.
Is that a reasonable price bracket?

Sounds reasonable. What does carsales.com.au say you can get in that range? The 120 series has the 180L fuel tank and 8 seats and you can probably get a higher spec level at that price. While the 150 has 150L fuel, 7 seats, same engine/gearbox, but more standard safety features.
