  • Buying a 2nd hand Grande in WA

    Hi folks,

Newby to this forum and have a few questions...

I'm looking at buying a 2003/2004 Prado Grande and seeing as I'm new to Perth, can anybody recommend a dealer?

Also, anybody know the difference between an AHG Toyota dealership and a plain old Toyota dealership? Are their service engineers trained any differently?

And finally, a hard spare wheel cover - should it come colour coded and standard with the grande or is it an optional extra?

    Cheers in advance.

    Jacko,

If your planning on going off road regualry, you will most probably end up wih 70 series tyres and the hard cover will not fit. In that case it doesn't really matter what colour it is. There are a couple of threads on here about the spare cover fit issues.

Personally I'd never purchase a second hand vehicle from a car yard.

I bought a Grande and i'm in WA.

I didnt go through a dealer.. Went through an auto wholesaler called Westside.

Depends on how much you want to spend, but you really have to check the truck out for what it is... and gauge your opinion on that rather than where you buy it from.. (IMHO anyway)

I agree about not going to a car yard - but each to their own. You often get a warranty of sorts from a car yard.

Thanks again for the responses folks. I am now the proud owner of a Silver 03 Grande

Bought it privately so avoided the dealer 'trap'. Taking it down to Armadale on Saturday for it's first proper outing. Get on

Had Toyota check out the last one I bought in September 08 . They couldn't find anything wrong with it they say it should still have a book value of $32k
