A local has a December 05 available with 60000 km, bullbar, towbar and is asking $40500. Any comments on this sort of price?

(unless someone is willing to unload theirs already set up for the "right price")

Mate, i will sell you mine for $40500.00 if you are willing (Sounds a bit steep to me) Although ours is a 2005 TD GXL with 100k, but it has drawers, bullbar, ARB roofrack, front recovery points, and i will throw in the compressor i burnt out on the weekend :wink:

I reckon we paid about that in early 07. As has been said before, you are in a position to drive a hard bargain at the moment. The best tip i read on here somewhere was to e-mail a heap of dealers, stating your requirements and your budget, and see what comes back. Make sure they can all see who else the e-mail has gone out to.

i bought my 05 vx prado 6 months ago, reason we did i sold my new 06 prado to buy the new ssv commodore (stupid idea) but went to the 05 vx mainly for the dual zone climate and for the air vents for the kids, came with all the stuff bullbar,towbar etc with 65,000klm, i paid $45,000... prob a little dear but i lost so much on the ssv , it probably was a good deal, i have seen others around the $40 mark with more and some with less klms, but as someone else said now is the time to but one if you want.. best decision i have made going back to a prado...

Bought late 04 GXL (has 5 speed auto) with factory bull bar cargo barrier window tint tow bar professional daul batt setup for 29300 3 months ago, with 75000kms, have just run out of warranty, one owner. This was in a car yard, was looking at the territory in the next yard, no comparison! we are very happy. Sometimes the wife lets me drive it!

rear air con has to be one of the best options going, When its 40 degrees and the car is full its like a fridge in the rear for the little kids.

I was a bit surprised nobody mentioned the extra safety features that come with the VX. Important for transporting the kids as well!
