It's been interesting to read the different pricing on the vehicles. Goes to show you must shop around.
I'm interested in purchasing the Kakadu in the next three months. Has anyone bought one lately and at what price?

Some interesting prices coming in despite what my local dealer in suburban Perth tells me. Some dealers are obviously keen to do business and cut their margins. I guess if it is a car ordered from the factory and not stock sitting on their floor plan then they should have room to move on price. Or do dealers have allocations and are able to sell as many Prados at near to Recommended Retail Prices that they don't need to do good deals?

I am in the market for a GXL D4D automatic - white with Tow Hitch, Headlight Guards and Floor Mats. Would ideally like to get it for around $61,500 - 62,000 on road.

Has anyone heard any truth in the rumour from one sales person that the D4D engine in the year 2011 Prado model range will be revised with more power and the third row seats will become a delete option? He said it is to counter a loss of sales to the Discovery 4 2.7 particularly in the GXL and VX ranges.

that sounds like an amazing deal tjcaus, my fleet discount is with qhealth so I'm assuming your fleet is massive as I've been told most dealers won't budge on $61000 drive away with no extras (Gxl, auto, td).

was that with any options on the VX matt? bare in mind the nudge bar & roof tray took my price up atleast $2k Inc taxes so it's roughly $62k with the other options which isn't too bad.

thanks for the contact richo, my quote posted is also through sci fleet.

hunjy105 - that was best price for me by about $2k. The next two dealers were about $2k more which is near enough - but the real kicker in VIC is that when they put accessories on a GXL it can tip over the luxery car tax adding another $2k - so the next two dealers became $4k out (if the lot was leased). Then the best option appears taking the car away and fitting accessories after delivery (if not fully leased).

I shopped with the fleet pricing from Orix which was super sharp straight off the bat - that saved me $7k straight away to get the pricing down.

                    Cheers

Got the call today, the new D4D Kakadu is ready to be picked up tomorrow. I order it in December for delivery now at my request. Paid $88K on road, drive away (GST inc), that was $4K cheaper than any other place around. I ran a silent auction buy calling about 20 dealers telling them what I wanted and asking for a first and final price on which I would make a decision on at the end of 2 weeks. Some dealers just quoted RRP, others worked very hard for my business. I see now you look like getting a slightly better price, but I got the K Rudd 50% investment deduction. Dealer "threw in" carpet mats for that price. As for LCT, yeah I would have been stung 30% on top of the price of the options in LCT so the dealer had to knock 30% of his price just to match RRP. I elected to pick up the car, drive around the corner and buy the roof racks, boot liner etc from the parts guys and haggle on price with them. Also got toyota finance at 5.95%, no-one else could come close on finance.

It seems people are getting reasonable deals on the GXL's but how about the GX's ?
Some of the GXL prices above are about the same as GX RRP so are people managing to get same sort of discounts off the GX as well.
Have many people bought the GX ? - I thought they would've been pretty popular with the lower purchase cost but I really haven't seen many around.

KJA - I purchased kakadu in Feb.
Haggled for a long time with various dealers - you can definitely secure a significant discount if you work at it.
I purchased the 4.0 litre Petrol Kakadu (Sandtone with Beige interior leather) - $83,000 Drive Away - Paid cash (Bank Cheque).
Prices may have come down since Feb.

                          Also got:
                          Bonnet Protector
                          Headlight covers
                          Rear Cargo Mat
                          Cargo barrier
Front and rear rubber kakadu floor mats
                          Thule Pacific 2000 Lugagge Pod
                          Roof racks (to suit above)
                          Total Cost $2120 inc GST
Got the dealer to invoice these extras seperately to avoid LCT.

Thanks Bertram35. You seem to have a great deal. I am looking at the D4D but would only add another grand. Also I think the stamp duty in WA is a little on the high side

Hi Ken, just borrowed a D4D overnight from Mossman Toyota in Sydney. It has 2500kms on the clock. The salesman, who has given me a great quote on a GXL, said that it is going for sale shortly at 79k driveaway. And you could have a great drive back to Perth as well.

Your are a legend. You have the cobwebs in my brain turning over and the feet itchy to go for it. Pradopopint site could save me all the leg work!!! Wonderful. I have had a look at the Mosman Toyota website and did you drive the Sandstone wagon which is on the web for $79990. However the colour is not the graphite that was our prefered one!!!!! and the light coloured seats could get a little grubby? No tow bar or window tint but these could be after market!! WIll give them a call
                                Thanks
