Checked "Order tracking" and it shows

Current status of your order: On Order

Planned production month: Still to be confirmed

Dealer advised that their records now show mid-late june! [What is ECD?].

    Cheers

Thanks mine was placed in Brisbane and is a GXL.

Will be interested to see if the VX arrives before the GXL.

Someone mentioned to me that the delay is due to shortage of engines, which are being used in other vehicles as well as the Prado.

Either way its a bit disappointing.

The advice I received back in January is that if you place your order before the 10th of a month then the vehicle will be manufactured the next month and delivered late the following month. Miss the 10th and the order will slip a month.

I ordered my VX D4D on 9 February and I picked it up two weeks ago on 20 April. It has a March 2007 manufacture date.

From that advice an order placed 4 April would be scheduled for delivery in late June.

              Michaelp,
First off welcome to the forum.
The time frame you mention fits into what I was told - start 15/5/07 delivery 6 weeks (26/6/07) approx).

This would have been good to know when placing order and negotiating price, with various dealers.

Anyway new buyers, who read this thread, will have a bit of ammo in the future.

My 120 was built in October 2005 and I purchased it new in January 2006 - but it's compliance plate shows October 2005.

I guess that means my 120 was fast coming from Japan to Australia, but it took Toyota over 2 months to sell it.

I heard somewhere that the dealers fit the compliance plate - if this is the case why doesn't my compliance plate show January 2006?

I think whilst they are a D4D they are a different spec to the prado (less power/torque).

I have been looking at the Hiace vans to buy recently and they have different engine specs.

Today was the big day, finally got our new GXL D4D. Had the usual 12 km on the clock and 90l in the tank.

Filled it up, 90.3l cost $107.00.................

What can I say it is wonderful, very smooth, quiet and gutsy. It is stock standard except for the usual accessories and will probably remain that way for a while (bank balance has taken a hit).

We plan to take it to Fraser Island next weekend though!

All in all very happy. Ordered it on the 05/04/07 and got it today.......... only because someone else ordered it and it fell through....

                          Regards,

                          Rob

                            Hey Guys

I am another eager "to be" owner of a Prado, this is what the sales guy emailed me after placing the order for a VX D4D in Perth on Wed 16/5:

"At this stage, the expected delivery date of your Prado is still end of August 2007. However, due to delays with turbo diesel Prado's, I am not very confident of late August 2007 delivery."
Hopefully that was just the salesman covering his bases... however I normally expect longer for any times I am quoted.

And this is what he said when I mentioned the Order Tracking System that I had read here:

"There is no order tracking system that I am aware of. All I can do is when you check with me every couple of weeks, I shall speak to our Stock Controller, and she will inform me if there is confirmation that your Prado will be built in July and arrive in August."
                            Thanks
