New vehicle delivery times ?

    Well heck... I waited this long. I've become good at waiting. So whats another few weeks. Sounds like some of you guys are getting your vehicles so that's damn good. I want pics right!

    What I'm concerned about is being led up the garden path with mine. I mean a computer glitch?? Ok it could be true but I get a nagging feeling there's more to it. It could be that I've been told a story to keep me interested, then the inevitable let down occurs. By that time though, I've been kept interested long enough that the extra wait is only another month and so I say "well I waited this long" and stick with the sale. Maybe JJT's dealer has actually told the honest truth in saying next year is a more realistic pickup time, and me and Rob are being strung along to keep us interested, and anyone else in our situation.

    The guy I deal with is clearly a very skilled salesman and so I wonder. However that might be an unfair thing to say as he's been excellent in every other regard. Well..... except for telling me what the heck's going on.

    There's surely no need to keep the original orderer interested though, because if I pull out, that Prado will barely touch the toyo yard before it gets sold in any case.

      Of course the cynic in me is thinking, these Prados are very hot items and being a shrewd sales guy he could probably get a whole heap of dollars by selling your order to someone else. Then tell you there was a computer glitch that has put your order back.

        Ohhh geez. I never thought of that Mav. You could be right as he did say that he'd just seen a Prado like mine will end up, same colour and all. Went on about how good it looked. At the time I thought he said that just to keep me interested and salivating enough to be softened up for the additional wait. But now the cynic in me also wonders......

        Like confirmed is confirmed right? How do you move from confirmed to Bumped?? I certainly am suspicious that I've not been told the true story.

        There's no way to know though so I guess.......... I wait....... again.

          I heard today that my D4D will be available in February, which is earlier than expected. I'll believe it when i see it in my garage.
          2014 Kakadu V6, HR Towbar, MSA seat covers, Scan Guage II.

            Ummm, what are the odds that they had exactly the same spec Prado, same colour turn up for someone else? Somehow I think you have been had and somebody else has come in and ordered a Prado the same as yours but they have paid oodles more for it than you have. So in order to secure the money they sell your car to them and make you wait for their order cause you paid less.

            Could just be all conjecture but I do not believe the computer glitch theory, that is just plain old BS.

                Hrmmmm mine is Flinders Red which apparently isn't all that common, though I see some in Toyo 2nd hand yards and in the paper. The dealer did say that hardly any new Prado's ordered were the red colour and mine would be somewhat "rare" but to be honest I took that as pure sales pitch. Well.... true to a certain extent as most Prado's around are the silver, white, or grey colours.

                So I suppose it's entirely possible that a rich miner offered a bazillion for mine as new red Prado's would be somewhat harder to come by. I then, being a plebian slave, must wait for the reorder.

                I tell you something though. If I get another lame excuse next month I might just have to turn up at the sales office with my burning pitchfork.

                  I would like to know who you ordered yours through and i think Mav`s not to far from the mark.After speaking with them yesterday they sent me a reply stating mine is now PRIORETY showed me internal emails from dealer principal to head office which i suspect were created internaly from there own yard just to make me happy.
                  I have informed them this morning if they cant give me a build number i dont need the car anymore. I have been offered a new spec grande v6 but i wanted the deisel, delivery end of this month.

                      Team Piggy,
                      Had reply back today that Toyota W.A are now in control build assured for November delivery December not holding my breath.
                      If its not built November i might put a lift kit on the express van,traction control,put a clear door on the rear (instead of reversing camera) and one of those stick on sat/nav on the dash. Instead of waeco in the back got enough room for a whole kitchen and a sofa should be realy comfy.

                        Until I actually have a Prado in my driveway I'm not going to name the business in the forum. Call me overly cautious, but at the end of the day they really don't need my business to keep afloat. If I bag them, 2 guesses as to how they'll bag me back. PM me if you're interested though as it's all good to know for prospective Perth Buyers. That is unless you're a Toyota SPY!!

                        I think at the moment Toyota have us by the short and curly's. My own opinion is that If I was to tell them to shove it they wouldn't be fazed one iota . They'd soon sell the Prado when it arrived. No problem at all. And they know it. It really stinks, but if you want a D4D then I think you'd need to be careful about the "forget it" threat, and just take on the chin what you're served up by the dealerships.

                        While I also suspect that Mav's theory maybe somewhere near the mark, what can I do about it?? Just another small time customer trying to buy a Prado. Customers for Toyota are not in short supply.........

                          Gota agree with you there we are only small fish but i just dont like getting stuffed around.If you sign a deal and told it will be built september delivered october no probs but dont lead people on when you already know it will take 5-6 months.Anyway im going to think positive now that they (Toyota WA) have given there assurance that it will be built november deliver december.Better off leaving dealers names out im sure when we both have our new cars we will catch up with the others on a Prado weekend.NO IM NOT A TOYOTA SPY

                                I jump into Google images, run a couple of searches, and usually find something close. It also helps to keep my ADHD at bay :lol: :lol:
