Meanwhile, my 5 month wait seems like it's over. Don't fall off your chairs, but my dealer actually called me. My Prado has arrived at the Toyo yard. Can you all just check there's no pigs flying past your office windows??? I have to take in my old Hilux trade this coming week on Wednesday night as that is "late night". They'll swap my plates onto the new machine, and I can turn up on Friday morning at 10:00am to finally, at loooong last, get the keys. Booked in next Saturday to be wired and fitted with spots. At the moment the info is that it's the right colour, is actually a D4D, has the right trim, and was not pulled from the bottom of the harbour. Sandgrabba mats have arrived from QLD this week. Tell im e's dreeeeamin!

Congrats Iron-Paww and welcome to Prado ownership....... finally. I hope your experiences are as good as Laceys and mine so far with 1700kms on the clock. Best decision we have ever made (that includes the kids :lol: :lol: )

Hehehehe very funny Mav and Chippy! I nearly fell off my chair I can tell you. Then I spent the rest of the day checking for pig swarms in the sky. It all seemed to good to be true!
It ain't over till the fat lady sings though right? Fingers crossed that nothing else "mysterious" happens between now and next Friday. Good job I'm getting it before I go off to TAS. My fine print actually says that if you don't pick it up within 7 days of it becoming "ready for collection" the dealer can flog it to some other buffoon who's only waited a week!

Congratulations Iron-Paww roll on Friday, you will enjoy it, had mine for a week and have got 500km's on it, not quite as good as Mav but I love it

I went for a little covert mission to my dealer this arvo and what should I find tucked in amongst a swag of recently delivered vehicles????
At last! Solid Proof! Of course, this could belong to some other buffoon but the following shot makes me think otherwise.
On Salesgirl's advice (very quiet lately) I got the dealer to give me my front bumper after they removed it to put on the bullbar. Now look at that.... a Prado with a front bumper in it...... hmmmmmmmmmmm.
Thought the following was interesting. Seems that they stick on the emissions and fuel consumption info. Must only be on newly delivered vehicles as I didn't see this on any other vehicle there.
Something I noted, look at this gap here between the back bumper and the bodywork. All the other Prado's seemed to have this too but I just thought it looked a bit odd to have such a large gap here. I can imagine a lot of dust and gumpf getting in there.

I'm thinking of going Lightforce 170 or 240's. With the type of driving I'm likely to do in the near future the 170's will probably do just fine. Although those 240's look mighty fine as well. I'm still not decided. Looking at the 4WD monthly forums there seems to be an issue with the Lightforce lights being easy to steal too so I'm not sure what to do about that.
