Hey guys just got an email from my contact in Toyo management that my car sould be built this week! Don't know how long it will take to get here a suppose a little delay won't be all bad if it becomes an 08 delivered vehicle.
It's great to hear how pleased you all are with the new toys and looks like the ques arn't getting any shorter so looks like I've made the right choice.

Spoke with my dealer and delivery in January now looking shaky.
This will cause all sorts of problems as originally driving back from Perth in new car now may have to fly back and return to pick up later.

Spoke with dealer today.Told me that production for this month will cease on the 22nd (my car is in this build month).Does this mean i will now see my tracking system go from in production to in transit?If so from your experience when will it change on the tracking system.This most likely only applies to people who have just picked up there cars

You should see it change somewhere close to the end of the month. Japan does not seem to update on a daily basis.

Rob, just had good news tonight. Checked my status to find it had changed this afternoon to "In Transit".
I have been sweating on this for the last few days because previously my status was showing an estimated "latest est. pick up date: 10/12/07". Based on that, I looked at the shipping schedules https://www.toyofuji.co.jp/english/ships/oceania.pdf and found that a ship - "Trans Future 7" was due to depart Nagoya on the 16th of Nov and arrive in Melb on the 30th of Nov. Which given custom clearance and road transport to the dealer would line up with a delivery around that date.

I hope we are both on this ship. :wink:

Now my tracking is showing "In Transit" and the "Latest est pick up date is 16/12/2007" which would be about right, particularly if I also factor in the add ons that the dealer needs fit.

Note: The next ship does not dock until 14 Dec - so I can only hope that the pick up date is exactly that and not a date relating to when it is cleared from the docks.

Well.... My old Hilux is gone. Took it in on Wednesday night. They swapped the plates over today. Tomorrow at 10:00am is Prado pickup time. My boss at work is giving me a lift to the dealer! He wants to see it too! Think I got him thinking............ It seemed impossible that I could wait 5 months without going mad. The 5 months are up and I think I did go mad. But some decent Prado therapy should solve that. Tomorrow night I'll let you all know how it went. Geez I've got spots going on on Saturday, then I gotta put on all the stuff I bought. Headlight protectors, bonnet protector, dust deflector, sandgrabba mats, Hilux washer jets..... Sheesh I ain't gonna sleep for days! I'll put up some pics when the machine is complete!
