New vehicle delivery times ?

that simply isnt good enough. I am extremely annoyed by my wait and the general outlook (ie who knows when!) - you have had the patience of a saint. Even i have been excited for you and knew today was your big day - i really undertsand your likely mood. I wrote to Toyota Australia asking about the delay and the inconsistencies nationally and requested an explanation. Of course that was nealy 4 weeks ago and they havent been able to reply yet. They must be figuring out how to explain why WA and SA has the longest wait for new Diesel Prados and why first come doesnt mean first served.
Hope the news brightens up fast for you.

Thanks for the kind words mate, but as I PM'd you the other day, I had a gut feeling that the Prado wasn't going to be delivered tomorrow as promised. The thing that got me dark was when the dealer asked who told me it was being delivered tomorrow. IT WAS HIM!

Anyway, the wait continues. I'll be calling again tomorrow to find out where the bloody hell the car is. On a boat, at a wharf, in quarantine. I just want an answer.

I had the same thing happen to me with my current car.

Subaru were so slack. I ripped them many new arseholes, but at the end of the day, they don't give a flying F**K!

Once they have your signature and deposit, you become pre-deliveries problem, once you pick it up you're services problem.

Honestly, they just don't give a shit!

delivery times and 'trace your order'

Hi all. I'm a new member. Have been reading intently the last week. I have ordered a White D4D and told delivery 21 May. I have followed the earlier posts on using the Toyota tracking system. My dealer didn't know too much about it but gave me my Retail Sales Order and Batch No. The site asks for User name & Password. I can't see anywhere on registering for Toyota site. I sent them an email for advice but no reply yet. Can anyone here explain? By the way, I'm in awe of the patience most of you seem to have. I'm antsy enough now and my delivery is only four weeks away. I couldn't cope with that wait. I have been through 4 different models of Hilux to now and the one I am trading on this (first of latest d4d models June 05) was 3 weeks later. The spit I had then would certainly give me a crown in any drama queen competition. Trouble was, when I did get it I hated the looks and the softness. Great motor, comfortable ride for a Hilux but it even bottomed out in my paddock. Anyway, contrary to belief, age does weary some of them and I'm after a bit of comfort and ease on the bones these days. Not into climbing mountains and parting the rivers and seas just for the hell of it, but expect my vehicle to handle it in the course of a normal day living in the country and also love to get out into the Red Centre and usually have trip to the NT most years. Whoops, into the late night waffles sorry. Just after advice on the way to access the tracking system at Toyota. Next post I will start on my hassles trying to swap over Grandcraps when it arrives.

Track my new Toyota

Hi CJD,
My dealer was good - within 7 days of order i had a letter giving me two 7-digit numbers. These were described as User name and Password. This will get you into a page showing your own order details. The entry point is off the bottom of the Toyota Aust Home page. What date did you order? If yours is set for delivery in 3 weeks it has already been built and i suspect being sold from an unallocated quota. Seems to me that quotas in the eastern states are a great deal bigger than SA & WA. Impressions i am gaining are that sales in WA & SA have excceded these quotas for some time as our delivery fulfillment is much worse than many Eastern States Pradopoint members are reporting.
lucky you - Toyota doesnt seem to care much about our side of the country!

I guess I'm not big on patience, but I love a new car and want it yesterday. I think I would have to move East if I was in your shoes. I ordered the car Saturday. Yes it was unallocated. I was told it was on the boat and allocated to the dealer, my name went on it when I paid my deposit. It would have taken a lot longer if I ordered factory options. I didn't need these, maybe next time. I only ever buy white cars. I'm red/green colour blind and I know what I don't see. I'm not going to take the chance of another me coming out of a country road with green trees behind a red or green (or truth be known a multitude of colours) vehicle. I've always had bullbars on my other vehicles, but certainly didn't like the one on my last Luxer, so will do without this time. I also read a few horror stories in this and another site. While I recognise many of these are furfies and fifteenth cousin of a long lost friend stories, I decided to get a snorkel instead. My biggest hassle is the Grandtreks. I made the error of leaving the Dunlops on this last Hilux. Before that I had always swapped my sunraysia rims and tyres from one vehicle to another as I upgraded. This had different size wheels. Bloody thing couldn't grip on wet grass. The Tyre Dealers I have approached so far don't want the Grandtreks. Too hard to flog in a rural area. Oh well, we'll see what the dealer can source. Hope your wait isn't too long. I'm not going to crow YET! Already delivery date has been put back a week supposedly due to some hassle with seeds on the boat and quarantine. As I said, patience isn't a virtue of mine, not with toys anyway. Everything else I'm fine (it's hard to type with your fingers crossed).

I have a good mate who owns NQ's largest car hire company. Rents heaps to the mining industry. He hates the new Hilux as it is not built for off-roading and everytime one comes back he spends lots of money getting them ready for the next hire. Unfortunately, the mining industry specifies "must be Tojo". The old Hilux was much stronger. He thinks the new D4D Prado is better (he's got 6 in his fleet) but the first thing he does is put toughened bash plates underneath as the stock standards are next to useless.

Ordered GXL on 14th Feb first told 11 may then 27th June told dealer we were off to NZ for months holiday on that day. He then said car would be at the dealership on the 4th June and we should be right to pick up on the 9th. Why would they say 27th when they know it would be there on the 4th it does not take 3 weeks to get it ready. I can not believe they expect people to keep waiting this sort of time.
