21 VX prado suspension

Hi all
Waiting on my our order for a 21VX first timer got a few months so want to try and get some ideas together.
I will be towing a 19 ft 2.5t van some of the time don’t want to upgrade suspension straight away would it be ok to use bags in the rear for levelling cause I presume it’ll sag would the factory coils/shocks be up to the task?

Not sure if you are taking the piss with your comment after just 4 hours. However. Depending on what/whom is in the car, You will possibly be over GVM with that size van and standard suspension will likely struggle if it has a high towball weight. Bags may help with the sag that it will undoubtedly have with a large van on it.

Being a "first timer" as in your first post of this thread would suggest that you are the noob here. Lucky for you, we help noobs here

Helper airbags are a good option for towing even if you do upgrade the suspension and highly recommended for standard suspension with any trailer requiring brakes, but as Piggy said, you need to be aware of your GVM and upgrading the GVM may be something to consider. Also, standard length airbags may not be suitable for raised suspension if you subsequently upgrade.

Considering the kerb weight of the VX is 2385 kg, a towbar/hitch/tow ball is 45 kg and the TBM of a 2500 kg van is 250 kg, you'll have about 350 kg left for you, your passengers, luggage, brake controller, air bags and any other accessory you fit to your car. The standard GVM of 2990 kg is easily exceeded when towing.

I also recommend checking page 193 of your owners manual when you take delivery of your new VX and check that the GCM is correctly stated as 5990 kg and not 5490 kg: https://www.pradopoint.com.au/forum/...gcm-limitation
