Discounts on Waeco fridges at Anaconda

Anaconda have some Waeco fridges discounted until the 24th December.

They are also including the Waeco bonus pack which includes a cover, set of containers, and a wireless temperature display (CFX only on that last one). Excludes New CFX 28 Fridge/Freezer & CFX 95. The email I got says "total savings up to $500" but I think they are including the bonus pack in that. The CFX50 as an example has $200 off the list price.

Isn't that version of the Engel running the same danfoss that every other fridge has for the last 10 years, which uses next to no power? Is that reliable now that engel finally ditched the swing motor or is that engel admitting they were wrong and over priced?

No. It has the most reliable swing motor still.
IMO other Engels are overpriced at about double that.

One day waeco can explain why their cf50 quoted at 47 lt has the same size basket as the engel quoted at 38, I must have missed something.
Then the engl 60, has 2 baskets the same size as Waeco cf50

Or you could just get a 6th gear icemax for $525+gst (10% off if you pay cash and pick up yourself) which is the exact same fridge as the ironman and has 5 year warranty. Same instruction book and all.

Anyway, yes one had the danfoss, like ironman $699, 6th gear fridge $450ca at the time, which I thought was a good deal compared to the weaco.
But then I saw the average finish & many returns sitting round, turned me off.
I spoke to a long term rays outdoors employee we know. They did say every brand fridge has come backs, except Engels, even the eclipse.

Just got my 18mth old engel back from repair for the second time last Friday.......this time a new cooling element last time was a thermostat.........funny how our 16 year old trailblazer has never missed a beat.

Yeah might be an easy fix,yeah heaps of people use them but I've seen a few go down in the last year or so to make me start wondering if they have dropped the ball a bit.

I have heard of failures also. But I think your odds are best with engel. Maybe not?
Your always going to find failures in any brand.

2 weeks this time and about a week last time............waiting for parts approval/warranty etc.

I was suckered into the "Ledgend in reliability' crap........for the extra expense they have not proved their worth IMO.

I have no confidence in the product now and feel I cannot rely on it.

So can anyone offer more feed back on the 6thgear fridges? I was looking at the Ironman Ice Cub fridge a while back, if the 6thgear one is the same, maybe I should consider it.

Yeah I certainly didn't pay extra for reliability just $585.00 $649 & 10% credit at rays.

You definitely have had a bad experience, perhaps sell it & start fresh.

It's the 60ltr one.........It's been running flat out since I got it back on Friday as a freezer making some block ice for this weeks trip away so far so good.........I'd hate to lose a fridge full of food or even worse have ...........HOT BEER!....It'll be in the car for the next week with me so i'll see how it goes.
