The park is closed before the weekend, reopens for the weekend and then is closed again.

Sorry for the late reply, Rob. I honestly couldn't remember which way we went. It was my first and only time there and I really didn't know which routes we took or what tracks were around the area.
2005 120 series V6 Grande, 2 inch susp lift (King/EFS combo), 32 inch MT’s, Safari Snorkel, rear diff lock, breathers, Light Force spotlights, UHF, dual batteries.
Going in the eastern side through Ballandean, drive the track down to Burrows, visiting Red Rock Gorge, Reedy Waterhole to the and the Rats Castle loop. Will book camping at Burrows.

Ron, As u go through the main gate & continue ahead u come 2 a Y jct. The main track into the park is to the left through 2 fence posts. If u take the right fork & follow the track, it should take u straight to Redrock Gorge campgrounds. On the way out from Redrock campgrounds u will come to a track off to the right. A good little side track that will bring u back onto the main track into the park.If u get to Rats Castle u can try following the track that follows the river.
I've walked the Severn between Rats Castle and the Broadwater - it would be very difficult to get a vehicle between them. There are remnants of a 4wd track in some areas but nothing in others and the Severn has many rock ledges that would be difficult if not impossible to negotiate in a vehicle. If by some chance you did get to the Broadwater there is no way of getting to the camping area from the river in a vehicle.
Ok, I now drive an FJ Cruiser but did have an 90 series Prado for 11 years and before that, 4Runners from 1985.

Thanks for that..... That's exactly the sort of info I am looking for..... Maybe the track only went for a short way or better still.... a good camping spot
I have been 4WDing in Sundown for over 30 years now, back when it was still a mining reserve, I know the park very well, I was a friend of the previous long term ranger Peter. I have even been down to the smelter site and beyond, before H&S took over and closed the area. I have also walked a over a bit of the park as well.

Well, finally got around to checking out what the issue was with the Vit..... I initially thought it was the Autolocker, after talking with a couple of others I did start thinking it might be a broken axle, but thought the wheel should have been wobbling around abit and didn't give it much more thought.....
Well, looks like they were right.... I found a broken Passengers side Axle (the short side)
see pics:
It's going to a bit hard to get the leftover bits out as it's had a good pounding
Not sure... You maybe able to get some Chrome-moly axles, but 2nd hand axles are fairly cheap & I think I may look at installing a "Chinese" Air-locker and see how that goes. Should take a bit of stress off the axles during normal blacktop driving.....
