When you travel this great land, especially to places as iconic as the CSR, you shouldn't be worrying about the price of fuel. Just pay it. Get a credit card if you have to and pay it off after the journey. You want to do the trip then you need fuel to achieve it. That's the way I look at it. Back in 2006 when I did a trip through the centre, across to Cape York and all the way back along the east coast I thought I would spend about $3500 on fuel. It ended up costing $4500. You get that. The memories are priceless.Dave

Bugger Bali, get out and see Australia before we sell it all to China.

I agree Bushy, just be thankful someone is willing to live out in those places to sell us fuel.
I love the stories about Bruce at Rabbit Flat who when people would complain about the price of fuel he would just tell them to go elsewhere and get fuel, apparantly he ws known to let people wait for days before serving them

I've been through the flats about 3 times and never needed fuel with either of my Prados. One time, the roadhouse wasn't even open.Dave

Yeah I do agree with that, it was not a whinge rather than I am not looking forward to having to pay $600 for a fill up.
