    BP Ultimate Diesel Outage in Perth.

    If anyone knows where there's some BP Ultimate diesel available in Perth Right now then let me know.

    Haven't filled up for weeks and have only just found that you can't currently get BP Ultimate diesel in Perth at all. Rang and spoke with a guy from the BP technical dept. Apparently there are issues along the fuel production line concerning adding the injector cleaners and other additives that are in the fuel. BP have halted production until the issues can be sorted out, meaning we're all back to the previous standard diesel BP sold before Ultimate came out. Interestingly, the guy I spoke with said that in terms of cetane levels the BP standard diesel can often be similar to ultimate in any case. It's just that BP have managed to make the cetane levels more consistent with ultimate, and shouldn't fall below certain levels. Another thing I was told. The production line issues are related to increasing the production of BP ultimate diesel so it can be rolled out in other states.

    So, just putting it out there. If anyone in Perth knows where to get BP Ultimate diesel at the moment then I'd like to know.

    Give the BP truck stop in Abernethy rd Kewdale a call I would say thats your best chance

      Gave them a call. Along with a whole lot of other BP's in Perth. No dice. Looks like a tank of standard coming up.

        If it's any consolation IP, we fill up with standard BP fuel every time here in the NT. 8)

          My local BP at Albany Creek normally has two sets of bowsers with Ultimate Diesel, I noticed that there is a sign one one of the bowsers that says that standard diesel is currently being supplied.

          I wonder if this is related.

            Seriously mate, i wouldn't loose any sleep about it. Just stick the standard gear in, thats what your car is designed/tuned for after all.

              Yep OGG that's what is all over Perth as well. BP has filled all the Ultimate bowsers with the standard stuff to keep people ticking over until the issues are sorted out. Usually each station has a sign up telling people they aren't actually buying Ultimate Diesel. So I'd say that's what you've seen as well.

              No sleep lost. Just trying to find the fuel I choose and prefer to run, that's all. If it's not out there then so be it. After doing a little research and a bit of calling around, it appears that the standard Diesels of today are vastly better then they were even 12 - 18 months ago anyhow. BP now produce what they call "Ultra Low Sulphur Diesel" at only 10ppm. Interestingly, they also give this diesel a typical cetane reading of 51, which I believe is somewhere around what Ultimate is anyway. But they say it could be as low as 46. However, I have no idea if that diesel is what's currently circulating through BP Servos. At the end of the day, I'll take whats out there.

                      As we're talking about fuel, I have a Caltex fuel card supplied by my employer. I was pleasantly surprised when filling up today to see Caltex has finally introduced their Premium Diesel in VIC
