Bluetooth Phone Not Compatible with My New 150 Series?

Just bought a new 2011 150 Prado GX, It looks like I will need to upgrade my phone to meet the new bluetooth requirements.
Can any one recommend a phone for me? It must be Next G and I need to be able to use my range booster aerial with it. The #1 contender is the ZTE Telstra Explorer at the moment, which comes with bluetooth 2.0, but for what you get it seems a bit expensive ($529 outright).

I use a Motorola Defy ( Android phone ) in my 120 and it works well with the Bluetooth.
I'm not sure if it will work with your antenna booster.

I have the Telstra Explorer - good phone - great in the bush. Unfortunately it is not compatable with the Prado bluetooth. See here from the ZTE forum http://www.zte.com.au/ztebb2/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=644 I got around this issue by installing a ZTE car kit with a cradle - found them on Ebay, kit = $80 cradle = $70. This works well for me. You program the phone so as soon as it is placed in the cradle it automatically connects wirelessly to the kit and gives hands free operation. I researched phones quite thoroughly before I went for the Explorer (165+). I had the previous model (F165) for four years and it never missed a beat. Also because my contract had just expired Telstra gave me the phone for nix as long as I signed a new two year contract. Hope this helps.

Thanks for that Info Doug, I didnt realise that they were not compatible! I'm desperately trying to avoid having cradles etc hanging off the windows and air vents as they just rattle to bits as soon as I head off the tarmac...Bakc to the catalougues!

No worries. I made a bracket for the cradle out of an old black powder coated shelving bracket and screwed it to the side of the centre consol. I can see the phone clearly, reach it easily and it doesn't shake around. The speaker and main unit are located under the drivers seat attached to the carpet with velcro (along with the UHF) and the microphone is on the front window pillar. Works a treat for me. Have a look at my build up thread - there is a photo of it there.
