Yes, unless there is a major break the blades are in motion all the time or unless the wind drops out. The round blue structure in the front of the photo is the gearbox. There have been several failures in Tassy & these have to be replaced by cutting the roof out & craning the old out & the new in. No provision was made for this originally as they had not had any failures, untill they faced the Roaring Forties.

Sidewinder`s Dual Battery isolator and rear power outlet kit. Pirana Battery tray, Hayman Reese towbar with Toyota wiring kit and Brains`s guard.

One turbine can power a thousand homes,but all the power is sold to the grid, they cost around $5m US, the larger ones have lifts where as the older ones only have ladders. The two farms in far NW Tas have around 35 each, old & new. Small faults can be rectified by remote computer eg restarting etc,.
