  • Stolen Caravan

    Hi All.
A friend of mine has had his stolen this weekend from a caravan repair shop at Capalaba QLD.
The van was there to have a heater installed and was taken over the weekend.
I know that there is probably little chance of seeing it again but can you keep an eye out for it please.
It is a 21ft Franklin XTrail almost 12 months old. Qld Rego No is 203-QFK.
If you see it please call crime stoppers.
    Many Thanks
    Sid
    Regards Cyclone.

Crooks have been driving into caravan parks, hooking up a van and driving away whilst the owners are out on a day trip. Security devices are needed: tow ball locks, wheels locks, alarm.

All the security in the world will not stop these scum. The tools available today can make short work of just about anything. I have an 18V Dewalt angle grinder that would make short work of most locks.
          Regards Cyclone.

Agree with cyclone i had one of my vans stolen from the front of my house in broad daylight just cut locks and hooked it up and drove away i actually seen it the next day whilst i was working couldnt stop what i was doing and called the police they didnt even come and see me or drive around the area. When it was discovered it was stolen my wife had to drive to the police ststion and file the report as they wouldnt come out to the house.

You are right about the angle grinder, or other tools, but, you need to do something to slow them down, hoping they will go elsewhere. I use a tow bar lock, wheel lock and an alarm.
