Has anyone had the drivers seat belt light fail to stop blinking even after I am hooked up.?

Make sure your driver seat belt is latched in properly. If still blinking make sure no fluff and crap has got down in the latch.

he dog sometimes sits in the passenger seat and sets off the passenger seatbelt light. I just unpluged the sucker and works a treat. Might be another spot to put a switch or something now. If you can't fix it maybe check it there is a fuse out or something. Or else, take the fuse out...

Might want to check up on that before you disconnect. Toyota told me that the seat sensor is what turns on the airbag. If no one is sitting in the seat then the airbag won't deploy.
So the light and sound is there to tell you that in an accident the airbag will go off so put you bloody seat belt on or the airbag will break your nose. This happend to a mate of mine recently.

I raised the question because my ( not so brief) briefcase frequently sets it off.

Thanks Guys, light still blinking. I took it to an Auto Electrician and he said that it was the stem and needed to be replaced. Might have to bite the bullet and let Toyota have a crack at it before I go and order one of these Stems. The seat belt is certainly hooked in properley but I will check for fluff etc before I book in. I had in the past trouble with the ignition which turned out to be a staple down the Ignition switch and got caught in the tumblers. Thanks again, Nobby
