Long time lurker of the forum, always wanted a Prado. Spent many years on Nissan and Subaru forums and can only speak highly of the forum community when it comes to advice, info, and support. I can only expect the same here!
Looking to do a lot of driving, exploring and camping with the Prado.
We have finally purchased a Prado:
2009 150 Kakadu D4D Auto
Ebony Blue
158,000km
Mods as purchased :-
TJM Winch Bar - Black/Chrome
Future mods planned:
New "D4D Turbo" stickers
LED Driving lights (I see there's much conversation around Kakadu front camera issues)
New Tyres: BFG or Cooper ST MAXX?
Spare Wheel spacer
Roof Racks/Flat Rack
Winch
Auxiliary Battery
Future purchase: Camping trailer
A lot of info on here, it will take some time to figure out what is best for me.
Looking forward to the friendly advice!
PS: Can't seem to find where to get myself a PP sticker? Anyone?
Regards,
Steve

Installed a discharge protection device between my auxillary battery and the 12v plug. (Mainly to stop the engel draining my battery below 11V)

Mickey Thompson Baja STZ all round inc spare.
Removed factory 6 stack Head Unit and replaced with a single Din Pioneer Head unit which has Bluetooth everything, and installed the cables to use my existing Toyota controls on the steering wheel.
I do all my own mechanical work and modifications, 2nd owner since 100k now it has over 260k. No injector issues, no oil pick up issues, no issues at all.
I service it well and keep an eye on everything!

@Matt: I can't understand why anyone would bother with 18s. Tyres are more expensive, less range and less likely to find a spare in the outback. Otherwise it looks like you bought a pretty well setup rig. I do miss my 120!
@cybr - how did you stay off this site for 10 years? You probably saved a fortune!
@bjl - There is a latte club for the Kakadu princesses on the forum here somewhere Seriously though - enjoy the rig and I'm sure the grand daughter will love Wiggles on the DVD player.
2016 Crystal Pearl Auto VX 2.8, TJM Bar, Safari Snorkel, Cooper AT/3, OME 50mm lift, Dual batts
Picking up my Prado on Tuesday, but have spent the past few weeks reading through the forums. Here's what I'll have:
Model: 2013 GXL D4D
Colour: Graphite
Mods: BSF steel bullbar affectionately named Roo Stopper, Toyota tow kit, tint.
Wishlist: Heavy duty shocks, driving lights, winch, compressor, roof basket (if it'll fit into the garage, otherwise some racks), UHF, snorkel, upgrade the stereo HU, sandgrabba floor mats & cargo mat (mostly to contain the dog fur), dual battery, the list goes on!
First decent 4wd I've had, so I'll be the one waving others down to pull me out of a bog!
