Have been looking around PP since getting my GXL 2 weeks ago and got some usefull tips and hints including finding out about the great scanguage gadget, which I've posted a discusion about in an already existing thread. It's great to have a resource like PP.
Hi, we are new here as well. Peter and Kylie (and the Kids - Amy 6, Kate 3 and Rachael 1).
We bought our first 4x4 12 years ago (Hilux dual cab) and only upgraded it to a Prado last month. The Hilux lacked leg room for the kids and strugled to pull the camper trailer, so it was time to retire the poor girl. We were so impressed with the Hilux (lived on an island for almost 4 years with one bitumen road - so everything was off road) that we ordered the Prado without much thought. Ended up ordering it on the phone without test drive as we would have to drive over 500km one way to drive one. Had a quick look at others (online), but they would require too many mods to do what we needed.
Prado GXL 6sp man
white (what other colour is there)
2.5t tow bar
Sovereign bull bar
Head light protectors
Bonnet protector
Cargo mat
Front side window weathershields
Dual bateries
Anderson plug for camper
So far we have had it mainly on the bitumen, but when the weather cools down it will head into the Flinders and also out toward Lake Eyre South.
Great site.

We, like you, recently upgraded to a Prado in October 2008 from another 4wd, which we had owned for about 8 years. We also have three kids (12, 10 and 6) and just love the touring functionality of the Prado - sure you will too.
Heaps to learn from PPoint. Don't forget to get your PP sticker!
ps. What type of camper trailer do you have?

we bought a second hand Liberty Camper with a 12 foot annexe. The annexe is great. Just got back from spending 10 nights in Adelaide to do our shopping and catch up with friends and in September we drove it to Darwin and the kids loved it. They like their own air in the back seat in the Prado as well. And portable DVD players are soooo great although we don't get to listen to any of our music, but the peace and quiet is great.
I see you are in Darwin. We were on Groote Eylandt for 4 years. Only moved south during 2008. Used to go shopping to Casurina every 6 months.
