Welcome along Aaron. I couldn't agree more. What I used to think of as 4WDing soon turns into $WDing

Especially when you get hooked on Pradopoint and the shopping list goes throught the roof

    Cheers

Well hello all PP members .. Another person looking at this forum for quite a while and decided ( whilst it is quiet at work ) to introduce my self .
I am from Perth and have owned a 99 SNOWY V6 manual for about 3 years , all that is added is Hayman Reece tow bar ( for the camper and boat )Toyota alloy bull bar rolla roof racks to carry cartrite pod and a set of cheap spotties, owned a few differnt 4wd's for many years . One of the reasons I ( we ) purchased the Prado was the third daughter was on the way and needed extra room for the kids friends - and have never looked back . Yep that is rite three girls 10 , 6 and last one 2 1/2 NO MORE KIDS even the cat is female . My family tries to get away at least twice a year on decent trips with the camper trailer so far all the spots along the west and southern coast between Point Sampson to Esperance with plenty of weekend trips to Denmark .

I do not get off the "beaten track " to often as the wife has a back problem and limits me on going off road to far , but when any opportunity comes up and with permission from the cook I am out of the city before I pack my tooth brush .
As far as doing any mods on the bus I will have to wait find some way of explaining why it is important to spend the $ on the kids taxi , but no doubt a plan will come to action and then I will get ALL the extras .

Very soon I or ( we ) will deffinatley go on a PP trip and by looking at some of the posts a few lads in Perth like an ale or 7 which suits me fine .

                    Hi everyone,

I've had my white GX 120 2003 TD Prado since early 2006. Mostly interested in touring which suits my wife and 4 year old daughter fine. A while back I found Prado Point when looking for some ideas on how to make a set of rear draws. Since then I have been pouring through the posts in PP to find other recommended updates and tips on jobs that I can tackle.

A couple of months ago I went along to a 4WD training weekend near Newcastle with my brother in law - that was a lot of fun. Every chance we get my wife and I hook up the Jayco outback eagle and head out for the weekend. No time yet for long trips.

We've got the Jayco up for sale and have a deposit down on an Ultimate camper trailer and are looking forward to getting away on some more remote trips. The car came with the sovereign bull bar, winch and cargo barrier and I've added a custom set of rear draws (using excellent instructions I found here). Also just had the larger steel rims and Cooper S/Ts fitted.

Over the next few months we'll be upgrading the essentials for longer distance touring. I see the essentials as suspension upgrade, dual battery and fridge, snorkel, UHF and am eyeing off those in-dash navigation systems (my list of "essentials" goes on and on).

Just wanted to say hey and thanks to everyone for their tips, advice and product reviews, as a new-to-4wd/touring person I have found the contributions a great help.

                    Cheers.

Hey Rob, thanks for the welcome. Yeah, we'll be sad to say goodbye to the Jayco, it's been great.

Porsche? Not much of a fan, thought this one looks like it would be handy on a trip...
