            Hi Andi

We had a 1997 90 series for 13 years (just bought 1a 150 series) and did some serious 4WDriving and touring to the tune of 260'000ks. My suggestion is to ensure that you keep to the maintainance schedules, ours never cost us anything more. I'm sure that you will have a fantastic time in it and try to make some of your local Pradopoint trips and you will meet some fantastic people as well.

                      Hi folks,
I have just joined pradopoint and thought it was time to introduce myself.

My name is Rob (AKA Molly) and I own a 2006 Grande, Auto 3L diesel in Pearl White.

Since I purchased it (June 2008) I have added a ARB winch bar, Insect screen, Milford cargo barrier, ORS draw system, ORS fridge slide, Icom IC440 UHF,
BFG 265 70 R17 (including second sapre), Dual battery system , 2 x spare lighter plugs (fitted to cargo barrier), 12v - 240v inverter, added to my already extensive recovery gear list, Cheetah roof rack with a number of attachments, Boab water storage (40L internal fit).

I am in the process of building a false floor with tie down points and a small (lightweight) draw system which will take the place of the rear seats (second row).

                      Wish List:

                      Winch,
                      Spot lights,
                      Upgraded suspension system,
                      Snorkel, and
After market Turbo (upgrade boost) including Turbo Timer & Exhaust.

No doubt I will require other "toys" but must start with small steps.

I will be testing it on my first real trip in this vehicle when we tackel the GBH in July.

                      Stay safe and happy touring.

                      Molly :shock

                        Hi All,
My name is Gunar, yes a little different, and we are waiting to take delivery of our new Prado GXL next week. As a result I can not post a pic yet but will later.
The vehicle is a GXL with tow bar, bull bar and various accessories, none of which are major as this vehicle comes standard with most things included. We have always owned a patrol, as we use the 4x4 for towing our caravan, as we are retired and always on the move.
Iam sure it will be a great tug. Will be adding twin batteries in the next few weeks.
Iam glad to be a member and looking forward to gaining a lot from my fellow members.
                        Cheers

                          • Re: Introductions

G'day all. We have just bought ourselves a '09 150 Series GX. Took it on some pretty tame tracks on the weekend before we even had 400klms on the clock. We bought this to tow our camper trailers with as we own a camper trailer business. We also have an 80 Series Cruiser but it's just a touch on the slow side with a trailer on the back... The 80 is set up for touring and could tackle the hardcore stuff too so we will aim the 150 towards just the touring side of things.

First things first, new additions will be:
                            Bullbar
                            Rear bar
                            Side steps and rails
Driving lights, probably lightforce XGT's if they fit. I like the look of these but haven't used them before. I have lightforce 170's on the 80 and they are great!!
                            Tyres, either Mickey T ATZ's or MTZ's
                            Dual Batteries
                            Snorkel
UHF - GME TX4400, took it out of our last vehicle, just need somewhere to put it. Ideas anyone??

                            Eventual wish list:
Suspension lift - not sure what yet
                            Rear drawers with cargo barrier
                            Winch
                            ARB air lockers
Roof racks - if it will fit in the garage, with more lights on the rack and a Foxwing Awning
On board shower for the missus and kids
Built in DVD players for the kids (for us really, we need them to be quiet more.... )
Fridge drop slide for the Waeco

                            About me and the family:
My name (or what i'm known as) is Gilly. I've been married for 10 years this September and have 2 lovely kids (free to good home..) with the third due in September. We own a Johnno's Camper Trailer franchise so do quite a bit of camping. As i said earlier i also have an 80 Series. Got quite a bit of gear on that. Almost the whole list above without the DVD players, shower and fridge slide. We love getting off road whenever we can and go out a fair bit with the guys and girls from the 4x4 Earth forum. We hope to get along to a few of the trips that you guys and girls organise on here.

                            Cheers,
                            Gilly

                              Howdy all.....

Just thought i would give a quick intro on me & my new rig.

Recently purchased a stock as a rock 98 Prado GXL Petrol 3.4.

Was hunting for a few months for a good low K "Toorak Tractor" style one & finally came across "Casper" a white GXL.

With 176k on the clock, excellent body work and interior, it fitted the bill perfectly. After a good checking over by myself & the RACV, it appeared i had hit all my requirements on the mark. Under body was as clean as a whistle, not dents, dings or anything to suggest anything other than an easy life.....

Mods either already done or in the works include the following

                              Air Compressor
                              New Battery
                              Diff Breather, front & rear
Dual Battery, Redarc & Piranha and 4 blade fusebox to feed the 50L Waeco DZ Fridge Freezer and rear lights

                              Front Recovery Point
2.5 Exhaust, Its got some nice note now and the performance & fuel economy has improved considerably!
                              Air Bag Jack
Diff Locker, start with the rear
Bonnet Protector & Rear Dust Shield

OME 40mm Lift, New Springs & Nitrocharger Sport Shocks
Rear Drawers & possibly cargo barrier.....

Casper will be used as my daily drive & also to get me around when i undertake my favourite pastime, Bowhunting......

Given i have only had it for a couple of weeks, I am very impressed with the way she drives. My mechanic gave her a service last week & made the comment "she drives like new". Had all fluids changed, plugs, filters, belts & hoses done. Cost a few $$$, but at least i know its all good.

Lets not talk about how much all this is costing...

                              Cheers
