    • hi to all,

      2010 black V6 kakadu.

Had 2011 on order in april, once they said dec arrival i began looking for demo and thats what i found, couldnt wait any longer! i find myself glued to the laptop on the forum any chance i get ( my 2yo runs a muck!~) . love reading the posts/articles. We dont get off road much as my husband works alot. This is my 3rd prado after having owned a 90 & 120 and wouldnt drive anything else. Im told i love my car more then the house. quite possibly true! I do spend more on it then clothes and shoes and worth every cent. I dont post much as im sure i have the least experience off road then most of you members but still any chance we get were off. anyway just thought id introduced myself, Rose

Have just ordered a 2012 GXL TD with a delivery in march ( i hope ). Sold my GQ SWB many years ago and really are looking forward to getting back into some 4wding and camping with the family.

                    • Hi Folks,

I've been poking around here as a lurker for a while now, but thought that registering and saying g'day was probably the better way around things!

My wife and I bought our Prado about 3 weeks ago now, and while both our families are into 4wd-ing, we haven't had a chance to take it offroad yet.

                      Model: 95 series RV6, 3.4L petrol V6, 5sp manual
                      Year: 2001
                      Colour: White
Accessories: Cargo barrier & ARB roof rack (both off and in the shed, as it's more of a daily driver than an off roader at this stage), electric brakes, alloy bar.
Wishlist: A lot. The minister for finance hasn't opened the purse strings yet. First two items are a UHF and a new GPS (my old Uniden is pretty useless these days).

Primarily we needed a new car that would fit a pile of kids, but also wanted to start heading off on the back tracks for holidays. As the father in law has had two Prado's, and my wife didn't like the look of anything else, the Prado won out by default (not that I think there is anything wrong with it though!)

Managed to pick it up from a private seller who was disappointed with the trade in he was offered on a brand new Pajero. He thought he would stick it to the dealer and sell privately. It is still very tight and has done almost no work. Previous owner had it since new and while they got out and about a bit, he seemed a bit hesitant to do any serious work with it.

                          • Introduction

Hi all, not done an introduction before; just been really enjoying the site for the past year.
Bought a 150 GXL D4D a year ago and being inspired by the trips section we took ourselves off on our own (maybe foolhardy) from Sydney to Bourke, Wanarring, Tibboburra, Innaminka, down the Strezleki, then up the Oodnadatta and to Halligan's Bay on Lake Eyre. Then Coober Pedy before a 'Wolf Creek' experience on the side of Lake Hart which put the willies up me and made me wonder about going in convoy or with a few others in future.
                            Anyway, our vehicle:

                            150 DVD GXL
                            Yokohams Geolanders
                            Rubber OEM mats
                            Toyota Tow bar

                            Wish List:
                            TJM colour-coded bullbar
                            UHF radio
                            Spotlights
                            Drawer system
                            Roofrack
                            Upgraded springs maybe
Snorkel, like the TJM but heard that ARB with ability to swivel top is better?

                            Cheers
