Just fit a bigger snorkel, that should do the trick.

aah "the chad" not a charlies angels fan by chance?
welcome aboard! another "champaign" prado owner, or as it's referred to in with ours, "grandma gold" good to see!
Thought I should finally say g'day after lurking for several months. It's a great forum - I'm even getting used to the new layout.
Been looking for a new 4WD for a long time and never could make up my mind, but reading the discussions here helped a lot. Last week we signed up for my GXL D4D Auto with Option Pack, delivery due late this week. No accessories yet, that will come a bit later and wife and I are "discussing" that extensively. It will be a big change after the old Nissan D21 (first model Navara) that we have owned for 22+ years! Now we'll have a reason to join in on the forum discussion and activities. Thanks to all for your help.

Welcome JeffL... You won't be disappointed with your new car once it arrives. We've had our GXL D4D for almost a month now and just love it. My wife just loves it - and I am sure yours will too.
This forum has been a great help for me to convince the wife to agree to certain extras... hopefully it might work for you too. 8)

First Post - Take 2
Did a post a couple of weeks ago but seems to have vanished. No matter. Fantastic forum.
Picked up my 2008 GXL last Friday.
White, Petrol, Auto, Sovereign Bullbar, Window Tinting, Rear Wheel Cover, Reverses Sensors, Tow Bar and Windshields/Bonnet Protector.
Compliance plate states 10/08 so I assume it is not long off the boat.
Got what I thought was a good deal through my company using salary sacrifice.
What can I say that hasn't already been said many times on the forum.
I am really happy. Fantastic vehicle.
Spent a little time on the weekend removing my Lightforce 170's from my original 4wd and mounting them on the Prado. Will wire them up soon. Also fitted the rear dust deflector.
Not having owned a Prado before I am not sure what has been updated but I did note that the rear door retainer has a mechanical "push to lock" design. This may have been mentioned here before but I can't recall seeing it during my journeys through the forum.
It seems to me it would not take much to damage it if you forgot it was locked and went to close the door or the kids bumped into it while in the locked position.
Not intending to take it off road until the bash plate is fitted. I can't believe that Toyota do not put something there when fitting the bar.
Anyway, thanks to everyone who has made this forum such a goldmine of information.
Ray
