Hi all ! Loving the PP website - Well done to Admins and moderators.
I used it a lot when doing my research into my recent purchase.... We have a 7/14 build MY14 150 Prado that had only 13k on the clock. Most of the accessories were already on it, and I'm already looking into the extensive list of mods that can be done..... So many options...!!
Been up the beach, Fraser, Double Island and around SE Qld with friends, but this is my first 4WD. Kids legs were getting too long for our little car, and keen now to hit some trails, tracks and beaches with the family.
Looking forward to meeting some fellow Brisbane Prado owners in the near futurePete ~
MY14 150 GXL - Glacier white - ECB Bullbar - Hayman Reece Towbar - GME UHF - OEM Rubber mats - Full Tint - Bonnet & Headlight protectors - LED interior lights - LED side lights & number plate

Howdy, I've just signed up as I've made the upgrade from a fully modified hilux to a butt naked GXL prado 2010 with no mods except some canvas seat covers. I'll be picking it up from the stealership on Friday. I just grabbed the ARB catalogue so there's already a growing list of things. Good thing it's almost tax return time. Well done to the admin on this site, it's a lot more user friendly than the hilux forum

Hey everybody. My name is Vaughn, but most of my friends call me Raisin.
Let me preface this with, a disclaimer. I am a complete newbie on the 4wd front. I've never owned one and don't have any family members who are into 4wding. I am a car enthusiast, but have always walked more on the sports car side of things.
I am going to have a look at a J90 GXL on Saturday that a family friend is selling. They have offered it to me at a low price because they are moving overseas for a few years and their kids have their own cars now. I know it has been pretty well looked after and isn't really one that has seen much offroad use. I am wanting to buy it for use as a tow vehicle when I take my car to the race track because I don't want to break down and have to pay $500+ to get a tow the 200km trip home. In addition, my parents are moving to a property out in Upper Colo and there's a dirt road to get there so it would be nice to be able to visit without taking my car on it.
Anyway, I signed up to do a little reading and make sure I cover items I should be when doing the final inspection to decide if I'm going to hand over the money or not. And if I buy it I guess I'll be poking around these parts more often.Last edited by Raisin; 04-06-2015, 11:15 PM.

So I went and had a look at the Prado today. I'm going to buy it, I'll be picking it up maybe next weekend or something.
Here's a picture.

Hi All,
My name is John but everyone calls me Simmo.
Model: GXL Prado
Year: 2006
Colour: Silver
Engine: 3Ltr turbo diesel Auto
Accessories: windscreen sprayer upgrade
Poneer headunit
GME UHF
Pioneer 6.5 inch splits in rear doors
Kicker 6x9 splits in front doors (if anyone is interested I can provide model # install advice)
SSW cliff 6 17x8 rims
Wish List: 3" exhaust
2" inch lift
and that's pretty much it. start small and go from there
It has been a great car (other than the turbo exploding 6 weeks after I bought it, which I am putting down to not having cool down procedure its entire life)
looking forward to many years with it.Last edited by Simmo79; 14-06-2015, 09:15 PM.

New member - Prado 150
Hello All... Peter here from Tasmania
I've been browsing this forum for a while and have taken the plunge and purchased a 2012 Prado Altitude.
Prior to this vehicle I've had a Toyota LandCruiser cab chassis with a Trayon camper fitted. The Cruiser had a pretty comprehensive work over:
ARB bulbar and sidesteps with IPF lights and Warn winch
Mickey Thompson ATZ tyres
OME 2" Lift
ARB Air Lockers front & rear
Deep cycle battery with Redarc isolator
Console above windscreen
Codan HF radio + Uniden UHF
Sandgrabba Mats
Previous to that was a 97 Pajero wagon. I did a lot of work on that myself including customised bulbar, side steps, rear storage drawers, Waeco fridge, Airtek snorkel, cargo barrier, UHF radio, on-board compressor, 2nd battery and various wiring mods.
Between those vehicles my wife and I have travelled far and wide. Tassie trips of course, Fraser Island, Coober Pedy, Birdsville, Innaminka, Simpson Desert, Gulf of Carpentaria, Diamantina NP and small side trips.
We're looking forward to the move back to a wagon... mainly due to ride comfort over the Cruiser and of course we're getting older
I plan the following work on the Prado and have already found this forum to be great resource.
ARB Deluxe Bar
Driving lights... like the ARB Intensity, but pricey
UHF and HF radios
Snorkel
Second battery... gee that generates some debate on here (and other forums)
Sandgrabba mats
Rear drawers/storage + Waeco fridge
Awning
AT tyres... maybe Cooper AT3 or go back to Mickey Thompson or Cooper ST Maxx
Suspension upgrade
That's enough to keep me going for now... I'll keep looking for ideas and posting as I progress.
Cheers,Peter
-----
150 Altitude (2012) Standard for now... mods planned

Hey people, Jeff from Bendigo here. Just got hold of a Prado in a trade and always wanted to see what they are like. I only have a pootrol coz I can't afford a good diesel 80 series lol. I had a petty eighty and didn't really like it so let's see how the Prado goes.
Details:
Model: RV6
Year: 1998
Colour: Glorious white
Accessories: Alloy bullbar, sunraysias and it's got a DVD player woohoo.
Wishlist: Not many, maybe an ARB winchbar to match the pootrol.....
