My seven year relationship with the Prado has come to a regrettable end. A change of job involved a change of country and, even though the Gulf-spec Prado in the UAE is identical in every respect to the one sold in Qatar, I was unable to import my 2004 example because of an arbitrary "You can't import a motor vehicle that's more than five years old" rule, and all Prados in Qatar are too expensive, too abused, or most often both.
So I have been obliged to sell the Goatmobile. It eventually went to a friend of a friend, who has picked up the bargain of the decade: meticulously pampered and fully pimped and blinged for desert driving.
As for PradoPoint, I've lurked a lot more than I've posted, but it's been fun. I've learned loads of stuff about the machine, off-road techniques and war stories.
But I'm now Pradoless, and will remain so for the foreseeable future. Perhaps I'll have another, one day.
This is me, signing off and cancelling my PradoPoint account.
Goodbye, and safe motoring.
