Nothing Better To Do So Cleaned The Sovereign bullbar

I would never own another alloy bar again (always had ARB steel) but as this come with the prado I dont intend changing it unless it gets damaged. It made a difference but not a huge one considering the time it has taken just to polish the two ends (havnt done the centre yet)

Went to a paint shop here in Penrith and he said to use the cloth looking attachment with the autosol, he had this purple stuff there was $25 a bottle but said autosol was just as good. Bloody black crap everywhere lol, but has taken a while to do, definately some thing that needs to be done regular but I could not be bothered polishing it all the time. i am fussy but have better things to do then spend such a huge amount of time polishing just the bar, has taken me 2 hours just to do either end, still have the centre to do. Really should remove driving lights to do it but to much of a pain realigning again so not bothering. The autosol really shows up the deep stone chips in the bar as they go black, will try and clean them a bit maybe with a toothbrush. Just waitng for the plastic to dry to see if I removed the polish from the black trim or not, used windex to remove it not sure what else I can use to remove it if its still present......Cheers Steve

3M have a metal polish, I think in an orange pump bottle.
A mate of mine who is a metal polisher use a little of it on my bar and it came up great. No hard polishing!!
We got talking and I forgot to get the name of it.
He did say that it was expensive, about $80-, but you can get it cheaper I just have'nt bothered as yet.

Never even thought of that croozza, we have that under the sink for the saucepans and stuff, will give it a try, autosol not that great, ah well back to it, will let you know how the gumpsion goes...What a prick of a job, friggin black crap everywhere lol..Cheers Steve

I've come to like my soverign bar,as it is powdercoated charcoal grey by toyota [gx bar]
but i do find it annoying that it has no flat spot to rest a cuppa on when we stop on the side of road.

Yeah wife was shopping. 3 year old was asleep, sick of cleaning inside after 3 year old lol so thought stuff it ill have a go while I could, hasnt come up to bad but not as good as I thought it would considering the effort Im putting in. Pain in the arse to be honest. Just about finished now so will be a while before I bother about it again.. Now to wash it all get rid of the black crap off me and the car then clean inside tomorrow morning, buggered if know where the 3 year old manages to pick up so much crap on her feet and hands,lollies,chewing gum, chips, tictac's, the only thing she eats out of all that is chips (smiths, not hot ones) doesnt eat lollies or chocolates etc ???? Luckily for the mats it catches it all so not so bad, nothing on the seats thank god lol... Cheers Steve

try washing with chem tech blitz then give it a polish with autosol tried it a few years ago and it came up like new

I was in Bunnings car park a few weeks ago and came across a Sovereign bar that had been painted hammertone silver grey, to match the Prado. It looked different, but very good.
