Gme tx3440 uhf radio

Has any other members got one of these radios,And if so have you had any trouble with it.Especially with the transmitting.I know of Two and the repairer that fixed mine said that they have had a few come in with the same problem.They reported it to GME but they will not recognize that there is a problem.If you are thinking of purchasing a uhf stay away from this manufacturer.Go with other Uniden or Icom.
This is just my opinion and any decision is up to you.

I had two trev, they were fine. I did get rid of them though as id always accidentally press buttons.

GME's warranty is excellent though even their out of warranty repairs.

Sorry Dave but they vertical told me where to go,were not interested in my comment or problem,Even though they confessed to Electric Bug that they have faulty relays fitted to this model.

Hey Trev, I have one of these UHF's. And I did have an issue with it, exactly the same as yours. Bought mine from TJM Nailsworth and fitted it myself. When I had the issue, I called them, took the unit in and it was fixed under warranty, no questions asked. They sent it back to GME and it was gone for about two weeks.

A mate of mine from work has the exact same UHF, had the exact same problem. Cost him $120 to get it fixed through the Electric Bug (didnt have receipts or warranty as it was already fitted to the truck when he bought it).

More than just an isolated incident I think, but now that it's repaired and working faultlessly, I'm very happy with it.

AJ mine was out of warranty so that is why they would not do it for me.Just stinks when they know that it is a problem with this particular model and they have not done any thing about it,Ie recall.

No problems with mine touch wood... Still have to investigate getting it converted to narrow band.

I've owned mine for almost 4 years and it has been completely trouble-free. I highly recommend them (and I'm not paid to say that ).

I had issues with my GME unit and it was because i didnt connect the plug correctly to the unit. Once i done step 5 in the instructions it was transmitting perfectly. http://www.gme.net.au/public/pdf/bro...structions.pdf

I have been told that it could have something to do with diesel vehicles.When you start they spike at aroung 16volts,thus burning out the UHF transmitter.Not sure about this does any one have any knowledge of this.
