    My advice.
    1. Get out there and get it dirty. You wont learn much in the car park at K mart.
    2. If in doubt.............you probably wont make it.
    3. Take a mate. They are good for helping with statements on the insurance claim form.
    4. Take beer, matches and toilet paper whenever you go out.
    5. Take plenty of gold coins for the Car Wash on the way home.
    6. Enjoy yourself.

      Hi Brian,

Most of the videos of Prado Pointers having fun in the bush scare me, so I've signed up to do a training course in May with Great Divide Tours. It's a 2 day course designed specifically for 4x4s towing camper trailers and covers tuition for 2 people. They have their own training facility near Braidwood and seem to have a good range of courses for all standards.

On most of our trips we will be towing our off-road camper so hopefully my wife and I will learn a bit.

We leave next Wednesday for 4 to 6 week trip to western NSW and SA. When we get back we should have a better feel for the Prado and a better idea of how much training we will need.

      Cheers,

      Lee.

Over confidence and ignorance is what gets most people in trouble so the training course is a great idea. It will give you confidence in the ability of both the vehicle and the driver/s. You will be amazed what you can do with a bit of professional guidance. It will also teach you the limitations of both and therefore what not to do which is equally important. Good luck and let us know how the trip goes.
