Just a scratch you say......

I had the misfortune this week where someone scrapped the passenger corner of my ARB Bullbar. It has been on a whopping 3 weeks and someone has hit it. Unbelievable.

To their credit they did own up to it but it is such a pain. If you go bush and scrap something you just wear the consequence but when someone else is fault on something brand new it is very frustrating.

She was very good about locating me so I do her full credit for that but she said a few times "I am sorry I scratched your car". The problem is I don;t think people really understand how complicated repairing a "scratch" can be.

I took it for a quote so I can provide her....I believe she will have aneurism. Just over $600 for the scratch.

I feel sorry for her but she didn't have to hit. Do not look forward to all the work in the repair of the bar either....what a pain!

That's my whinge for tonight....need a Bourbon!!!

Sorry to hear lostdingo, but at least I would have to give her 100% credit for finding you and letting you know, probably 99% would have driven off and you would have really been spewing then. Yeah its a pain, much damage to her car ?? what did she hit it with ?? Might be worth seeing if she wants to go through her insurance then she can get her car fixed as well, if she is going to pay $600 roughly anyway (may be more of less ??) she might as well fix hers, get both done and then you wont have the hassle of anything. Do you have to remove the bar to get it fixed ?? If it goes through her insurance then just drive it to the repairer, drop it off, ring me when its ready guys !! (might be roughly 2 day repair, R & R the bar plus spray booth time etc should be no more then 2 days. Still a pain in any case.......Hope its repaired properly......Cheers Steve

Steve, yes give her 100% for finding me, cannot fault that. Don't know how much damage to hers but did ask. She didn't say but I suspect a great deal considering the height at the corner......cannot be good.

They have to take the rubber everything off the bar. No damage to the bar so I would not remove if I were them...just take the lights etc out, tape off the back side and scuff and spray. Should have an nice thick double duty coat of paint after all said and done!
