Good points. Love lockers. But, you can still steer with TCS - not so much with a twin lockers. TCS does sound 'off' too. cheers

Have a look at the rear of the lead Prado.... Check out the REAR BAR plus the difference in the REAR DOOR to what we get here.
The REAR BAR & DOOR look pretty good combination I reckon....
The rear bar is a Kaymar rear bar without the wheel carriers

Whats the go with the rear doors..... does'nt look like the spare normally mounts to the door..... I guess underneath then ? which leads me to thinking fule capacity is a lot lower than what we have in Aus

Thanks Steve! Before each section we got out and both planned our lines.. theres a fair bit of time doing this which isn't included in the videos... Not to detract from Steven's driving abilities though, he's a damn good driver and showed great throttle control

Yes, the 150 bottomed out a few times but nothing too bad; sliders, front cross member brace, aux tank guard. I also bottomed out on two harder lines; aux tank guard and rear diff.

Tassie tiger; you're kinda right about turning but keep in mind thats only an issue on even terrain where you dont need the locker engaged. When climbing something gnarly there's usually slipping on either side, so the steering isn't badly affected. The only nuisance I find is when at the top of a climb on flat ground, the lockers don't always disengage instantly, so a bit of forward/reverse ensues. IMO, TC is great but the advantages of lockers far outweigh the disadvantages.

For a comparison, watch spitfireslw climb the rocky section which starts at 4:40:

Dont misunderstand what I am saying here fellas. Lockers are great. The point I am making is that an auto with a steady driver and traction control is fantastic. If the prado didnt have traction control (and hadnt been modified with lockers) it would really have struggled over the ledges and would have needed momentum which would have damaged stuff.

By all means go lockers, but from the factory traction control allows you to go places that those without cant. I first learnt this when the old mans pajero went places my 100series rigid struggled. cheers

No worries tassie tiger. I know you like the lockers, I just wanted to talk about the steering affect a bit and show off another video

No question about it, TC is awesome, it allows people to take their vehicles to places they didn't even know they wanted to go! There's no way I'd lead a Prado down that track without TC or lockers... way too much pain in store for their car.
