  • Sahara Nomad Swag

    Hi All,
Does anyone have a Sahara Nomad Swag.
There on sale for 239.95 for a double.
I've never owned a swag before however I thought it would make it easier for those overnight weekend trips.
Interested in receiving some feedback, below if the link.

The doubles are very big packed up. If it is just for you I'd get a single or king single if you are on the larger side. I've never heard of Sahara, I have a Bourke & Wills Coolabah. If it is only for occasional use have a look at these http://www.techniice.com/2011/jungle...ndex_swags.asp

In my experience cheap swags have cheap zippers, cheap zippers bugger up quickly, a swag that can't be zipped up is not much value. We have a bourke and wills for our son, very good swag.

      Cheers Andrew

And to add to what Andrew has to say, a cheap swag has cheap canvas with synthetic stitching, which doesn't cure properly and allows water to seep in. Not ideal.

I've been down the cheap swag road and learnt the hard way. I had a Wild Country from Rays Outdoors and it sucked. I personally would never go for a 3 hoop design after that, simply because the taut canvas near the hoops on top allowed water to pool and seep in through the seems. It was probably just due to the crap quality though, not the 3 hoop design.

Anything that's made in Australia out of 16 oz canvas is the go. I have an Ultima, which is made in Casino and its great. It has two standard tent poles at each end and one continuous piece of canvas along its length. A mate has a Burke & Wills, and it is also a good swag.

        Happy swaggin'
