          Yeah that is stupidity.

I for one have never been stuck for long because I always take my wife and her freind along to push when the vehilce bogs down.

In this case I presume the transfer case should be in N for best outcome?

after having just driven from darwin to perth, i have to say.... there is ALOT of BIG caravans on the road these days.... i haven't really done any "touring" style driving for about 4 years or so... but on that drive down here... i couldn't believe the sheer size of some of the vans people tow these days... etter yet, the size of some of the ones touted as "offroad" vans...

Anythings offroad if you've got a big enough 4wd truck.

Depends on what your definition of a "road" is...

What's even more worrying, is the age of some of the drivers towing these huge vans. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the elderly it's just that some of them struggle to keep up with the traffic flow as well as keeping in their lane.
When you drive interstate, it's surprising how many of the older "grey nomads" are towing. I hope I make it to their age one day, but I also hope I will understand my driving limitations.
