The rep point system should be scrapped! Most people don't use it so not many positive points are going around, but the moment you say something a little out of place, people suddenly learn how to give you neg points (been there). I can't blame people for that, it's just human nature to complain not praise. But in real life reputation is earned and it lives silently amoungst the people - we don't have little green or red boxes stamped to our heads. If we did, we'd be emotionally hurt, and discriminated against.

I got red carded on another site by someone who didn't have a clue regarding a post I made which was technically correct. He/she simply didn't like the truth and engineering facts. Waste of time in my opinion.

I was under the impression that you were able to check who was giving you reputation of not? I'll have to look into it again, I've seen it previously, just can't remember where...

EDIT:

Check your Settings tab in the top right of the page and the latest rep points and the comments and the person who made it will be listed.

It's like judging a $19k vehicle against a $55k

For what it is, I reckon the GW V240 is decent value for money.

You have to laugh don't you. I got a grey dot when someone, (a New South Welshman perhaps???) didn't like a comment I posted on State of Origin when Queensland won yet again.
I only just realized what what going on when I read the last few posts.

It's a sad world alright and there are lot of people out there trying their best to make it even sadder.

Even sadder is that they are amoung us, on this forum.

Uk Vette, you mention comparing a hilux's versus a Great Wall.
I've still got my hilux which was built in 93. It still goes anywhere I want it to, is unbreakable,
after near 20years.
Of the 3 people I know who have bought a great wall ute, all have had problems. One needed a new water pump after 3000kms, another needed new brakes after 10,000kms, the last hated all the annoying noises the body and mechanics made.

Not what you'd expect from a brand new car.
So the question has to be asked, is the GW cheap because it uses cheap parts? Or is it put together poorly, possibly bad workmanship on the production line.

A lot of people buy these work utes for that, Work.
Down time on the car means no work, meaning no money coming in. And then you get a reputation as an unreliable worker, which can cost you even more business. So that 19K car is now costing more.

Is what you save in the purchase price, worth the lost income and business?

In my opinion you get what you pay for.
