Our company bought a couple of these GW utes in Canberra for engineering to drive around the tarmac. The engineers unanimously vote them to be POS. All have had issues, with one requiring a new gearbox before 10,000Km. A recall for asbestos in gaskets is probably the least of your worries if you owned one.

there is a Greatwall crewcab pickup sitting in-front-of my neighbour's house across the street as it has been for a year and a half. It just does not get fixed, first the owner complained the injector was toast, then the rear axle after a tow, now with cold setting in, i can see the doors settling down day after day, one day they too will fall off.
older model prados will be money well spent......
