I have been going to the one Toyota dealer for the last ten years. I know the owner, also the service manger, and work shop manager. I have made inquiries re: the cracking in the mudguard problem. They told me that they no of know problems with the 150, now in saying that I am not saying it hasn't happened, however isolated.......they also told me that it was a problem with the 120. Now bear in mind they are talking from their dealership perspective. They have not heard of any 150's having that problem that they have had to fix.
Now as to the Injector problem: They say that the majority of the injector problems have been with the Hilux and the 120, They also told me that they have not heard of any problem with the 150's. Now, in reporting what they told me I have taken on board what Roo has said to me in a private PM, that it would be prudent to have the injectors replaced every 120,000.......I know we are constantly hearing about horror stories about Toyota's high handed attitude with their customers and believe they are all true, but I have found over ten years with "Sunshine Toyota" on the Sunshine coast nothing but the most incredible service. They have always gone the extra mile with me and then some. Not long ago one of their managers told me that a lot of the Brisbane dealers have been shocking concerning warranty problems with their customers, like telling them that they cant fix their problem because the problem occurred on the beach or some other pathetic excuse ....(Just an example
Sunshine Toyota's discussion with me was that four wheel drives are built to do just that, four wheel driving, and that from their prospective that if a problem occurred while four wheel driving, it would be covered by warranty.
Re: Cracking of guards: Roo is trying to source a kit that strengthens the guard for the 150. He told me a French company have produced one for the 120 Prado so we wish him good luck in finding one for the 150.....I think it would be good insurance just in case. Before I go I want to say how much I appreciate Roo's input into this sight.
