An interestin point

Whilst watching Your 4x4 the other night they brought up an interesting point.When you go out 4wdriving your not to say that you are going off raiding,This is Illegal and you can be fined for off roaring on public roads.Also an off road event must be registered and can only be performed on private property.What is Australia coming to.The other point was that you are only allowed to drive on register roads no going bush.

Hogwash. Anyone is permitted to access any road "open to and accessible to the public", that means any track across crown land, unallocated land, pastoral leases, etc. And not just gazetted roads. The only exclusions are those roads marked as, and officially recognized as, private roads. And any road or track closed by the relevant government authority.Access to roads through native reserves can also be granted following application to obtain the relevant permit. Get out there and enjoy it.

That as far as Im aware has always been the case in regards to events. Here I imagine they would be referring to things like The Nissan Trials. Same if your holding a party at your house and there is alcohol and your serving it, technically you should have a license to do so !!!. People should just man up and take some responsibility for there own actions. Sick of people blaming other people for them acting like dickheads, cant handle the grog then give it up and drink coke or some thing. Its illegal also to let your 12 year old or under to walk to school !!!! called abandonment and you can be charged.........Place is going nuts, Glad I wont be around in another 50 years. Say what? I call BS. What legislation did they reference? Who enforces it (who is an authorised person under the legislation)? What is the penalty?

They may be splitting hairs and trying to get technical, i.e. i can drive off the road but still be driving on a road related area. Or perhaps they're referring to taking your 4wd off the tracks and forging your own path. That's illegal in a lot of cases. But just saying "off roading" while on a road? Seems a bit far fetched to me, but i suppose strange laws are not uncommon.

Hope the authorities policing this don't read my Madigans report, we were definately off road for that one, no tracks no nothing, off road in the purest sense of the word forging our own tracks through the unknown!

You have it all wrong boys, trev didn't say that "offroading" was illegal - he said that going "off raiding" was illegal. And I wholely agree with the governments stance of raiding. I mean unless we are in the middle of a zombie apocalypse then raiding has to be a total no no!

This has been taken out of context, the reasoning behind it was so the greenies dont know where people go 4wding, so that less areas get closed off to us, there is no legislationto saying you cant go 4wding.
