Hi all.........Purchased a MAX ELLERY Workshop Manual (EP.T034) so as to assist me with my 80k service on my 2006, 120 series Petrol Prado.
Whilst examining & measuring the brake rotors i noted that my rotors were way out compared to the specs this manual stated. Rang Toyota who happily told me the recommended specs and i also verified this with Repco who i believe go by the DBA Rotor manufacturer.
Page 322.....Front Disk Thickness Ellery says.......STD 22mm
MIN 20mm
Toyota says.....STD 28mm
MIN 26mm
Also noted the Torque spec for the Drive/Propellor Shaft bolts....
Page 254.......................................Ellery says........54ft/lbs
Toyota says......65ft/lbs
As expected i eventually got a reply from Ellery who suggested i was looking at the specs for a different model but would look into why the incorrect info had been supplied ??
It appears that this Manual simply has too many models and engine variants in it where maybe it should actually dedicate each Manual to seperate models with their respective variants.
Anyway, This is just a heads up......will be looking at buying the Toyota Manual on disk when the time comes.
regards......col.
